The pioneer of affordable ultra-portable laptops has come with a new model to rival the various copycat models in the market. The Asus Eee PC 1000HA is the latest model in the ASUS budget laptop line up. Among the most obvious improvements can be seen in its design. It has a sleek and more advanced look compared to its predecessor the Eee PC 1000H. It has more rounded corners and has a glossy finish to its outer casing. The Eee PC 1000HA has a rugged build, with a sturdy exterior to withstand the rigors of daily use. However, its glossy exterior seems vulnerable to fingerprints and scratches.

With a price reduction of $50 (compared to its predecessor, the Asus Eee 1000H), the new model has omitted the draft-N wireless and Bluetooth function, which is seldom used anyway. It comes with a 1.3 mp camera, runs of Windows XP Home and is wi-fi ready. It’s preloaded with a 160GB hard drive and have 1GB of RAM.

Posted by admin on January 26, 2009  |  No Comments

The following might help you think outside the box a little and give you more ideas about why it might be useful to have a wide format printer in your office.

First, wide format printers are perfect for making large scale event displays. If your company ever participates in any type of trade show or convention where you’ve to set up a visual booth for patrons to look at, having a large colorful visual display can be a great technique to generate attention. Using a wide format printer would enable you to easily customize each event display for any specific location or theme.Second, wide format printers are great for producing one-of-a-kind banners. If your firm has any type of store front where potential customers or clients might visit, hanging a banner informing the public about the functions of your company or any special promotions you’ve going on can be a great technique to create traffic to your business.

Why Barcodes

Posted by admin on January 16, 2009  |  No Comments

Today, the retail industry has evolved to meet the requirements of today’s fast paced world by giving consumers a much faster checkout and pricing process. All of this is possible with the use of the barcode. A barcode is an encoding tag or label that’s placed on all product that allows computers to track and ring up products far faster and more accurately than transactions made by hand. For every two keystrokes made by a human, a barcode can read one whole product’s information. This is approximately 10 times faster than if a person were to enter in the information by hand.

For approximately every 1,000 keystrokes made by a human being, there are an average of 10 errors. With barcodes, for every 10,000 scans made by an optical scanner, there are an average of only 1 error. This should be evidence enough that when it comes to routine calculations you can not beat a computer! In the world of business, we all want to keep our overhead low. Using barcodes can actually reduce the amount of training time required for employees. A scanner is fairly simple to operate, and automatically does the computation for you. Teaching new employees how to use a scanner is very simple and really should only take a matter of minutes. This is much easier than having to sit down with employees and show them the store’s entire inventory and pricing process that they’d have to remember and be accurate each and every time. Another great benefit of barcodes is their cost effectiveness. It really only costs about one penny or so per barcode label. They can easily be printed and added to items in a timely fashion, so that your entire inventory is labeled and tracked immediately.
