A hard drive is a computer factor or instrumentation that stores or contains the information on the computer. The computer system is stored in hard drive. All the computer needs atleast one hard drive to store its computer system, programs and user’s information.

The computer ordinarily have internal hard disk but as the computer systems have evolved and different needs, threats, and circumstances have arisen, the further and added external hard drive has become exceedingly common. An external hard drive is limited outside the cpu case and it has it owned enclosure.

The enclosure is somewhat more prominent than the hard drive itself and it may have now and then cooling fan. The external hard drive is exceedingly portable.

The user may store information in hard drive may without apparent effort move information from one computer to another. It communicates to the computer with a high-speed interface cable / bus.


The communication cable / bus permits the external hard drive to communicate with the computer so that information may be passed back and forward. The most common types of interface that are in applied are usb and firewire. It is a really use full instrumentation it allows users to tack back up and to store indispensable information which is divided from the main internal hard drive which could be damaged or loss by the online and offline activenesses.

We may store a big quantity of information, mp3files,videos,etc safely and securely. Whencomputer is on we may even leave external hard drive turned off. For transferring the information from one computer to antoher you just have to plug in the external hard drive to the computer from which you want to copy the information after plug in the hard drive you may without apparent effort copy the information and again plug in to the other computer in which you want to transfer the information.

It is very pricey but it is cost effective it has many uses. The main advantage is its tremendous and huge memory.
